You worked all week. Or maybe you studied all week. Either way, you were looking forward to getting out the house and putting the past 5 days behind you. Chippewa is cool, but can get sort of old and tired if indulged too often. Well, at least that’s our theory on why we were jam packed with faces for our third 1984 party at Off The Wall. The party was hoppin’ and we have the photos to prove it. Click Here to reminisce or see what you missed. Our 4th 1984 will be May 25th at 11pm - Until .

Off the Wall makes Top Billing
It’s shameless to blow your own horn – so thankfully we don’t have to. The April 27th issue of USA TODAY not only gave high props to Buffalo as a place to visit\, but also put OFF THE WALL at the “top of the list” for dining. The article which was written by Ben Mutzabaugh stated that “Even dining out was a treat. At the top of the list is Off the Wall, a joint on the city's trendy Elmwood Street that bills itself as ‘the most erratic, eclectic, eccentric eatery ever.’ It doubles as a high-end thrift shop, where "almost everything is for sale" — including
the table and chair you sit at.”

Needless to say we were thrilled to be the ONLY restaurant mentioned in the artlice We were equally excited to see Buffalo get some love and recognition as one of the best places for “Opportunity Tourism”. “Make no mistake: Buffalo is not New York, Miami or San rancisco. But neither are most places where airlines offer $97 round-trip flights.” Said Mutzabuagh.

It’s time to EAT, DRINK and LISTEN TO MUSIC at Off The Wall. Starting May 14th, Unkarved Block will be the first of many bands to perform live every friday (except for the last friday, of course).  On May 21st we’ll keep the jammin’ going with Eric Crittenden and friends. And on Saturday’s the DJ session continues with a rotating lineup. So stop in for a beer or maybe some Sake and get to jammin’ with Off The Wall..

DOWN 2 A SCIENCE
Refusing to say give up on hip-hop, the self proclaimed “teacher” of rap – KRS-ONE – has returned to give us yet another LP installment to his library of lessons. We don’t know the release date but the LP will be called Down 2 A Science. Production will be done by Inebriated Rhythms. Keep your eye out for this one.

In 1958 At the worlds fair in Brussels, he premiered his collage of electronic noise and airplane sounds. Know his name? Well, you should. Because Edgard Varese is often called the Father of Electronic Music.

“I Long for instruments obedient to my thought and whim, with their contribution of a whole new world of unsuspected sounds, which will lend themselves to the exigencies of my inner rhythm."

The term House Music came
from people out shopping in the Chicago record stores looking for the music that they heard playing at the "Warehouse" in the early 80's
